SIN CITY

A lazy Thursday in bed with Dan Brown and his da Vinci Code, a gift from Rain. I'm really sorry that I had to miss going out with Cindy 'cause I was really tired from work the previous night. Anyway, thank you for the great b'day present Rain. I had a great time re-reading the adventures of a Mr Langdon.

Later in the evening, I had a reunion of sorts with Crys, Rain and Darren in the city. Cindy (baby... ^_^) and Nick also showed up. We had some semblance of real Malaysian cuisine in Chilli Padi. Crys left after dinner to catch her bus home. Then, I got to watch this great movie with Cindy, Frank and Sherls after. We caught the premiere at 10:50 at Crown GV.

This movie is awesome...

Frank Miller's SIN CITY

A collection of interweaving stories all based in the corrupt, crime infested hell-hole that is Basin City. Heavily influenced by film-noir, there are 3 main storylines concerning different characters with different motives.

A hulking brute called Marv (Mickey Rourke), who is seeking the murderer of a beautiful woman who was killed while asleep in bed with him;

"She smells like angels ought to smell."

An ex-photographer called Dwight (Clive Owen) who accidentally kills a hero cop and has to cover it up.

"My warrior woman. My Valkyrie. You'll always be mine, always and never. Never. The Fire, baby. It'll burn us both. It'll kill us both. there's no place in this world for our kind of fire. Always and never. If I have to die for you tonight, I will."

A soon-to-be-retiring policeman called Hartigan (Bruce Willis) who is incarcerated for a crime he didn't commit.

"An old man dies. A young girl lives. A fair trade. I love you, Nancy."

All based on the brilliant graphic novels "Sin City", "The Big Fat Kill" and "That Yellow Bastard", written and illustrated by Frank Miller.

"Walk down the right back alley in Sin City and you can find anything."

Sin City was definitely a great story, and a very clever plot. It was fantastic to see that star studded cast all together in ONE show!
"The Fire, baby. It'll burn us both. It'll kill us both. there's no place in this world for our kind of fire. Always and never. If I have to die for you tonight, I will." ... That was without a doubt my favourite lines from the movie.
Cool blog. Keep up the good work =)
