a victim of circumstance

and she said...

but I like you...

so, I replied...

and I'm not stupid.
But you ask for something that will not come to pass.
You are a victim of circumstance.

I am sorry.

As men, we are happy because our lives are simple.

One mood all the time...

in Kuala Lumpur 2006 - part 05

I just found out that my license died a while back... like in 2005.
And, since I've been back, I've been running around alot.

There were instances where I was with my car~crazy buddies.
Racing around KL streets with their modified Civic and this guy's MX-5.
And, there was the drinking and clubbing with Kwang and Heng.
Even the simple stuff like buying groceries and sending Sammi for tuition.
I have been driving illegally...

*shock*

*horror*

Imagine if I had come up against the law enforcement.
I wouldn't be able to bribe my way out of this one.
I won't even try...

kena roadblock...

ada minum?
ada...

ada speeding?
ada...

ada lesen?
tada... wtf?

HAI LAT worrr...

Definately going to get the license renewed tomorrow.

the One I had let go...

and just can't find again...

Happy Valentine's Day !!!

Back in the days of God knows when, some wiseacre came up with the occasion to celebrate love for the sake of love.
Romance... was in the air.

Ahhh...

There are some who say a Saint started it all.
Kwang reckons this Saint was probably a florist.

I say, that whoever this guy was...

He is the bane to MAN~kind,
He puts a hole in every MAN's wallet,
...and a damn good marketer.

Today?
I'm going to stay home... alone.
I'm going to eat dinner, sans candles, at home... alone.
I'm goint to give chocolates and flowers to myself... alone.

(Thank you Fate, you screwed me over this year!)

heh~

Oh... If you probably can't tell by now, the title was meant with sarcasm.

in Kuala Lumpur 2006 - part 04

I caught a taxi home after lunch...
The cabbie was an elderly chinese guy, about 50 years of age.

His registration identified him as a Mr AN YOUNG CHOW.

I was like... wtf?
It may have gotten him a fair few laughs when he was in school.
But it really doesn't suit him now.

an young chow was born a fair while back.
He lived a great life being young... this chow.
chow is not quite so young now.
Actually... this young chow is now quite old.

Should he change his name to old chow?

heh~

ENGLISH

Walk in the wind, today's sunlight, a sudden tenderness
The sky's tenderness, the earth's tenderness, like you embracing me
And then to discover you've changed, I'm alone from now on
How would I go on if it gets cold?
The horizon's light, I'm at your side, but not even in your eyes
What are your eyes hiding? I have never understood
It doesn't matter, I'll let you have your own world
Not disturbing you is my tenderness
I don't know, don't understand, don't want, why, my heart
Obviously it wants intimacy, yet I'm lonely until dawn
I don't know, don't understand, don't want, why, my heart
That love's beauty is always all alone
I'll give you my best love again
Unwittingly, unwillingly, I'm at the the entrance of this alley again
I haven't cried, yet haven't laughed, because this is a dream
There was no sign, no reason, you've really said it all
If I gave you freedom ~freedom~ that would be my tenderness

in Kuala Lumpur 2006 - part 03

I take back what I said about ZOUK in downtown KL.
Perhaps there was no one there 'cause it was during CNY.
Last night?
It was crowded.

I'd say that it was a great night...
It, being Ladies Night, had a lot of people.
Hey... what can I say?
Have a strong feminine presence and the males will flock to the kill.

There was lots (really... it was more like tons) of malays present.
Again... It being Ladies Night, cheap fks all around.
It was a lil sigh~...
But still plenty of scenery~
^_^

Started with the usual Chivas+Coke.
Ooo... before I forget, thanks to Heng and his local buddies again.
Had the usual Vodka... after... with Heng.

Absolut...

With such an easy drink, it is tasteless when mixed with anything.
You just keep going and going until it (being the bei~ness of being drunk) finally kicks you in between the eyes.
Just don't really feel it when you are going...
Most of us felt really sick after.

And, to compund matters, I had not eaten much before.
With the amount of alcohol consumed...
I am feeling bloated.
~_~ *urp*

But it was a great night... Yea~

Gonna be getting some sleep now.
Heng and friends... sigh... (then accompanied by an evil smirk)
I am going out with them tomorrow. Again.
Hope Kwang will come...
I'm (figuratively) "putting him on the table"... to back me up.
lolz...

oh... to swim and drown in vodka...

in Kuala Lumpur 2006 - part 02

OMFG... I love this country !!!

3 reasons... cheap, cheaper and cheapest !

with a strong OZ dollar, I'm happy~ happy~ joy~ joy~
the score? spending what is essentially (approximately anyway) Chris 3 vs Local Shopkeepers 1

Yea~

Anyway...

I was walking about the city, and the place is so friggin~ cheap
walk and eat and walk and eat and walk an eat summore

roadside stalls ROCK !!!

you know, they have stuff on sticks like fishballs and squid
not to mention the deep fried stuff like prawn crackers, mMmMMm... oily~
and... and... AND... RM1 herbal teas !!!
Sold only on roadside carts.
Now in disposable cups ! @_@
They no longer sell drinks in plastic bags tied with string and complimentary straw, heh~

I really hope I don't put on any extra~neous weight
it's not like my midsection is all that slim&trim

specifics? I was in/out & about the Sungai Wang area
but nowhere near the expensive side that is Bintang Walk tho'
the place has changed a whole heap since I was last back in Feb '05
the general area and its surrounding vicinity has cleaned up
the air-conditioning inside - OMFG!!! - works now...

I learnt something new though...
Jalan Bukit Bintang is actually very historical to Malaysia
the first highrise in KL and the first classy~ hotel is situated there
the FEDERAL HOTEL owned by the Low Yat Group
opened it's doors in 1957 to cater to the need for Tunku Abdul Rahman to entertain his dignitaries

I stand and pay my respects. Salute~

c'mon... even Muhammad Ali had a boxing match there in 1972.
How is that for trivia?!?

but some things stay the same...
the seafood crowd is still out and about with their golden bleached hair, cheap clothes, tacky fashion sense and oversexed~ g/fs
la~ la~
I had a good laugh then... I am still laughing now !

what is inside? heh~
funny sound~ing brand names like ROMP, VGFX and XOXO
the clothes are (by my taste) very trashy, as the locals do fashion
I tend to stick to my slacker Levi&Converse
but there are a few gems
like cheap Adidas Superstar 2Ks for abt RM280
and there was this really cool Converse limited edition Chuck Taylors... but they got the size all wrong

but, seriously, BUYER BEWARE !!!
the Adidas 35th Aniversary Superstars for RM69?
They are RIPOFFS

and, the DVDs and PS2 games there...
no way in Auvergne (some region in France. heh!) are they the genuine articles.
welcome all to Asia, the land of piracy~
I always tell my intl' friends to bulk up on these cheap&nasty DVDs and pirated software before returning home.
But in no way do I condone piracy in its many varied shapes or forms. *winks*

- BUT -
I just about had enough of the food though.
Am currently experiencing the pain of unclean foodstuffs bought off the streetside
and a recurrent bout of sore throat >_<
WTH did I eat the day before?
I think it really is the weather
no matter the ammount of H2O I consume, the heat still slays me

I'm gonna stay indoors tomorrow and abuse my air-conditioning.
There is PS2 to be played~

serotonin

- an organic compound, C10H12N2O, formed from tryptophan and found in animal and human tissue, especially the brain, blood serum, and gastric mucous membranes, and active as a neurotransmitter and in vasoconstriction, stimulation of the smooth muscles, and regulation of cyclic body processes.

in Kuala Lumpur 2006 - part 01

Kuala Lumpur... city of my teenage years
This is where I essentially grew up
but not quite where I matured...

a lil' melancholy today...

Alvin was in KL, came down from HK

Guess I'll say it again that...

Yea~

Alvin was down from Hong Kong over the CNY period.
I heard he was around Kuantan visiting and sighseeing about with his g/f
But, he stopped by KL to say hello to friends (me included) on the Friday
I was really tired and had fallen asleep that evening
we made alternative plans to link up on the Saturday
and that we did...

I met Ms Vicky whom I had not seen for 3 years
She was Alvin's hsemate or something
I had done Alvin or her some favour a few years back
and that is the connection (albeit a very thin one at that) between us...
I caught her voice though but I couldn't place her face

We ended up sitting around 1 Utama for a bit
then I took us all to Lotus (re: Nasi Kandar Penang) in TTDI for lunch
ordered all sorts of Malay/Indian (the mamak fare) cuisine for Alvin to try
But, that was the pretense... heh~
I just wanted to sample the variety, they helped by finishing what I had tasted.

On a sidenote, the Nasi Lemak isn't that great anymore...

Then we ended up in KLCC under the Petronas Twin Towers.
the Dude wanted to snap some photos!
We (Vicki and I) ended up feeding him Roti Boy buns... HAHA!!!
the Dude can eat, I really mean EAT... a great big lot.

and I saw Leanne...

guess I should apologize to Alvin and Vicki now
I was in a sour mood after I bumped into her
I thought I was seeing ghosts of my past... you know, halucinating
Then, she did come up to say hello~
Asked me a few questions about me and how I was
I can't remember the exchange

It was really awkward.

I really didn't imagine that KL would be that small
grabbed some smokes after
I say it's for the frustration and the stress
But, I've yet to open the pack...

I need to get away...

Leanne... Leanne... leanne...

Why does the memory of you haunt me so?

the Pai Tien Kwong ?!? celebratory aspects of my heritage

Did I get that right?
It's supposed to be cantonese...

I'm making the journey down to Bidor later this evening...

We hokkien have a festival on the 8th day of CNY where we 'pray to the God of the Heavens'.
I get to sit around family and celebrate being hokkien~
We prep food, arrange paper money and offer respects to the sky.
Then, we break sugarcane and burn everything...
firestarter! hehe~
Those who flaunt the law will then light fireworks.
And we invite the whole town over to eat and drink and get drunk...

I like to view this as a cultural heritage thing that I am satisfying.
So it really isn't at war with my religion nor the associated beliefs...

I really AM chinese...

Mum already argued that Sammi can't make it 'cause school reopens the next day.
And, that mum won't go either, 'cause she has to look after baby sis
think lil sis Stefi isn't going either.

Dad doesn't look too happy.
actually, he is ~fuming~

Sigh~

It's going to be a long, quiet and boring drive...

When The World Was Mine

by Ronan Keating

It never rained, the sun was always shining
Every traffic light was always green
There was a time when every door was open
The universe was mine, or so it seemed
Ever roll was seven or eleven
That it would ever end never crossed my mind
I was flying higher than the heavens
Back when the world was mine

Sometimes a man can't see
When he has it all
Take a look at me
Oh how the mighty fall
Once I ruled the earth
Once upon a time
When I had your love
When the world was mine

Oh the changes I'd make if I had the power
How could I have so much and be so blind
But at least for a bright and shining moment
I had you, and the world was mine

Sometimes a man can't see
When he has it all
Take a look at me
Oh how the mighty fall
Once I ruled the earth
Once upon a time
When I had your love
When the world was mine

Once I ruled the earth
Once upon a time
When I had your love
That's when the world was mine
When I had your love
That's when the world was mine
